Just to record sitting here in my hotel in Vilnius. The roosting flocks of crows zipping past my 11th floot window. Jackdaws (eastern>), Hooded Crows and Rooks - many hundreds in total - seem to roost on the high buildings of the city, an impressive sight during the evening - reminiscent of the str=arling flocks that used to whizz around london.
Vilnius is rather rural in its bird life. When Chrystal and I were here in March, Just outside the Reval hotel here, on the snowy grass between the river and the hotel, we saw about 20 Grey Partridge - almost in the centre of a capital city!?!
I have also seen Tree Sparrow hoping around in the main street of Kaunas.
